Synchronous belts are widely used. In daily life, we hear the word synchronous belts, but we don’t know what synchronous belts are? In fact, the synchronous belt is made of wire rope or glass fiber as a strong layer, and then covered with polyurethane or neoprene annular belt, and the inner circumference of the belt is made into a tooth shape to mesh with the toothed pulley. Speaking of its appearance, let's look at its appearance characteristics. Its length is arbitrary, and its width and thickness are uniform. The outer surface is made of rectangular stripes formed by anti-slip strip teeth arranged parallel to each other and perpendicular to the edge of the strip. The front end shaft of the encoder is equipped with a synchronous gear that is meshed with the anti-slip strip teeth on the synchronous belt.
The shapes of synchronous belt teeth can be divided into two types, namely trapezoidal teeth and arc teeth. Among them, there are three series of arc teeth, namely: circular arc teeth (H series also known as HTD belt), flat-top arc teeth (S series also known as STPD belt), and concave top parabolic teeth (R series).
The following six points are the main features of the synchronization belt;
1. The synchronous belt has no sliding movement when working, accurate transmission and constant transmission ratio;
2. Smooth transmission, vibration reduction and buffering capabilities, and low noise;
3. It has high transmission efficiency, can reach 0.98, and has obvious energy-saving effect;
4. Easy maintenance, easy maintenance of the transmission belt, no lubrication required, and low maintenance costs;
5. The speed ratio range is large, generally reaching 10, the linear speed can reach 50m/s, and has a large power transmission range, which can reach several watts to hundreds of kilowatts;
6. The center distance can reach more than 10m and can be used for long-distance transmission.
After understanding the relevant knowledge of the synchronization belt, let’s take a look at how the synchronization belt is installed. It is easy to install a tightening institution here. We will not explain it. We mainly need to look at the tightening institution. Remove the two wheels (with retaining rings) of the untightening mechanism and install them together with a synchronous belt.
1. Turn off the power supply, remove the protective cover, and loosen the assembly bolts of the motor. The moving motor makes the belt loose enough to remove the belt without prying it open. Never pry the belt off.
2. Remove the old belt and check for abnormal wear and tear, which may mean there are problems in the design or maintenance of the transmission.
3. Choose the right belt replacement.
4. When cleaning the belt and pulley, wipe the rag with a little non-volatile liquid. It is not advisable to soak the conveyor belt in a detergent or use a detergent to brush the belt. To remove oil and dirt, it is obviously not advisable to use sandpaper or sharp objects to scrape it. The belt must be kept dry before installation.
5. Check whether the pulley has abnormal wear or cracks. If the wear is excessive, the pulley must be replaced.
6. Check whether the pulleys are linearly symmetrical. The pulley is linearly symmetrical and is crucial to the operation of the transmission belt, especially the synchronous belt transmission device.
7. Check the symmetry, durability and lubrication of other transmission components, such as bearings and bushings.
8. Install a new belt on the pulley, never pry or use too much force.
9. Tighten the center distance of the transmission device until the tension measuring instrument measures the belt tension appropriately. Turn the driving wheel several times by hand to retest the tension.
10. Tighten the assembly bolts of the motor to correct the torque. Since any changes in the center distance of the transmission during operation will result in poor belt performance, it is necessary to ensure that all transmission components are tightened.
11. Start the device and observe the belt performance to see if there is abnormal vibration, and listen carefully to whether there is abnormal noise. It is best to turn off the machine and check the condition of the bearing and motor with the triangle belt: If it feels too hot to touch, it may be that the belt is too tight, the bearing is asymmetric, or the lubrication is incorrect.
